About the Author
Jonathan Rogers graduated in 1986 from Oriel College, Oxford University with a first class degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. That year he joined the Nomura International graduate trainee programme in Japan where he trained at Nomura Securities head office in Tokyo for three months.
On returning to London he worked in Nomura’s money markets department before moving to the institutional bond sales department where he worked for five years, covering central banks and institutions in Scandinavia.
Jonathan then moved on in 1991 to Long Term Credit Bank of Japan, again covering institutions in Scandinavia. In 1993 he moved to First National Bank of Chicago in London where he worked in derivative and structured note sales.
Jonathan joined Thomson Financial in 2003 to work as IFR Asia’s syndicated loans editor. He became IFR Asia’s debt capital markets editor in 2005 overseeing a team that reports for IFR, IFR Asia and IFR Markets – a real-time news service – on the region’s primary and secondary debt markets. Jonathan has written over 1,000 articles on the Asian debt capital markets and is regarded as a leading authority on the subject by market participants in the region.
